About Grokipedia

A reference to Indian government schemes, built from official listings.

grokipedia.org.in is a free reference to government schemes, scholarships and fellowships: one entry per scheme, from the Central government and every State, written in plain language from the scheme's official listing. We cover 4,751+ schemes across agriculture, housing, health, education, women and child welfare, employment and financial inclusion.

Every year, crores in government benefits go unclaimed because eligible people do not know a scheme exists, do not understand the eligibility rules, or do not know how to apply. Our pages explain each scheme in plain language: who qualifies, what you get, which documents you need and the step by step process, with the official portal linked at the end.

Each page is built from the scheme's official listing and links to the official portal. Pages that a person has reviewed show a Last verified date. Applying on an official portal is always free; we never ask for your Aadhaar, bank account or OTP.

How we verify scheme information

Common questions about where our information comes from and how current it is.

How do you verify the scheme information on this site?

Every page starts from the scheme's official listing: the scheme portal, the ministry or department website and the guidelines, and the official portal is linked on every page. When a page is rewritten, its numbers and dates are checked automatically against that listing; pages that a person has reviewed also show a Last verified date.

How often is each scheme page updated?

When a reader reports a correction, we check it against the official source and update the page. The date at the top of each page shows when it last changed, and a page that a person has reviewed also shows its "Last verified" date.

Do I have to pay anything to apply for a government scheme?

No. Applying for a government scheme on an official portal is free. We never charge a fee and never ask for your Aadhaar number, bank details or OTP. Treat anyone demanding a processing fee to apply on your behalf as fraudulent.

I found an error on a scheme page. How do I report it?

Write to us through the contact page with the page address and what looks wrong. We check reader corrections against the official source and, where the correction is right, update the page and move its verification date forward.
