How these numbers are counted

Every number on this page is a count of the entries published on this site, grouped the way each entry is filed: by level, state or UT, ministry, beneficiary group, sector and type of benefit. The groups come from the official listing of each scheme.

An entry can belong to more than one group (a scheme for women farmers counts under both women and farmers), so a set of groups can add up to more than the total. Central entries that are open in every state are filed under All India and are not counted in the state list. The counts are not an official government statistic: they show what is listed here, which grows as new entries are added.
