Information about the disaster and the resulting damage is received from various sources. The concerned Patwari verifies the damage and records it in the P-20 form. The Patwari’s report is subsequently verified by the Tehsildar and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. Approval is then obtained from the District Magistrate. Once the District Magistrate’s approval is received, relief funds are disbursed to the concerned beneficiaries at the Tehsil level.

However, irrespective of the extent of loss, assistance to a single family will be restricted to a maximum of 3 large milch animals, 30 small milch animals, or 3 large agricultural and draught animals (The loss or damage must be verified by a competent authority designated by the State Government).
