The grant for establishing biogas plants is payable as follows:
- 1 cubic meter – Rs. 17,000/-
- 2–4 cubic meters – Rs. 22,000/-
- 6 cubic meters – Rs. 29,250/-
- 8–10 cubic meters – Rs. 34,500/-
- 15 cubic meters – Rs. 63,250/-
- 20–25 cubic meters – Rs. 70,400/-
The estimated cost of a small biogas plant is approximately Rs. 40,000/-, and the department provides a grant of Rs. 22,000/-.

- The beneficiary must be a livestock farmer residing in Uttarakhand.
- To install a biogas plant, 12 sq. meters of land (4 × 3 m) and at least 3 animals are required.
